When it comes to 2000s reality television shows, MTV definitely comes to mind! The network is responsible for some of the most iconic shows from Real World, Jersey Shore, and of course, Laguna Beach. The show first came about back in 2004 and introduced fans to none other than Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, and Stephen Colletti, to name a few.
Despite fans wondering whether or not the show was fake or real, the drama the cast brought each and every episode made it well worth the watch! In addition to some real juicy drama, Laguna Beach also had some of MTV's most uncomfortable moments, proving just how great a show it was.
While we know Lauren Conrad went on to star on The Hills, where she and bestie Heidi Montag would start their famous feud, many MTV fans want to know what happened to the great of the Laguna Beach cast. So, where are they now? Let's find out!
10 Lauren Conrad
Lauren Conrad was a member of the original cast of Laguna Beach and the show's breakout star. After the second season, Conrad was offered her own spin-off in 2006, The Hills, which she remained the lead on for over 5 seasons.
While she has left reality television behind for good, Lauren has since become a fashion and makeup mogul. The star has released a number of collections throughout her career, has authors not one, but two New York Time's best selling books, all while starting a family of her own!
9 Kristin Cavallari
Kristin Cavallari took the spotlight come Laguna Beach season two, as it was her senior year. With Lauren off to fashion school in San Francisco, Cavallari became the star, however, this would be the last we saw of Kristin, that is until she replaced Conrad on The Hills.
Following her time on reality television, Kristin married former NFL player, Jay Cutler, with whom she had three children. The duo got their own reality series on E! called Very Cavallari, however, the show has since come to an end after the couple revealed they would be separating for good.
8 Lo Bosworth
Lo Bosworth was also an original cast member on the hit MTV show and played a supporting role to none other than Lauren Conrad. While Lo was the typical Cali girl, fans managed to see her evolve after joining LC's spin-off, The Hills, in its third season. Lo later become a full-time cast member after Conrad's departure from the show.
Much like Lauren, Lo has also said goodbye to her reality TV days for good and has not only conquered the world of the culinary arts but has also started her own business. In 2016, Lo launched Love Wellness, a company that caters to women's health and wellness, proving how much of a boss she can be!
7 Stephen Colletti
Stephen Colletti played Laguna's Beach senior heartthrob who stole the hearts of just about every single viewer. While fans adored him with LC, his relationship with Kristin not only stopped them from being able to date but created some of the show's most memorable tension.
After his time with MTV, Stephen landed a role on One Trill Hill from 2007 to 2012, and now works with Lifetime acting in Christmas films, which he also writes and produces! Colletti has also kept in touch with most of his Laguna Beach friends, including Kristin Cavallari, with whom he shared dinner earlier this year!
6 Jason Wahler
Jason Wahler played quite the role on Laguna Beach, especially when it came to him and Lauren Conrad's relationship in season 2. Despite kissing another girl in front of LC during the season finale, Lauren not only stayed with him but dated Jason during the first season of The Hills.
Since his time on the show, Jason has turned his life around and managed to get sober and find the love of his life. In 2012, he married Ashley Slack, with whom he now appears alongside on MTV's reboot of series, The Hills: New Beginnings. The duo is returning for its second season, where fans will be able to follow the couple's pregnancy journey with baby number two!
5 Dieter Schmitz
Dieter Schmitz was definitely a fan favorite on Laguna Beach! The star was loved for his ability to be the voice of reason during many tense moments, making him the rational and level headed character the show always needed. While he parted ways with MTV after the second season, Dieter never fell out of touch with his fellow cast members.
During his 2016 wedding, his co-star, Colletti served as groomsmen while Lauren Conrad was in attendance. He now lives in Washington D.C and works for Lore Group, where he manages their hotel designs.
4 Talan Torriero
Talan Torriero always brought the part to Laguna Beach. The star was adored for his sense of humor and "chill vibes", making him a great addition to the cast. While he walked away from reality TV after his time on Laguna, Talan continued his efforts as an actor and landed a number of roles throughout his career.
The star now lives in Nebraska with his wife, Danielle Torriero, who tied the knot back in 2014. The couple has just welcomed their second baby, a daughter named Hudson Isabella, which they shared on their social media pages back in December 2020.
3 Heidi Montag
While Heidi Montag may not have been a full-time cast member, Laguna Beach is where MTV fans were first introduced to her. After going to fashion school with Lauren in San Francisco, the duo returned to Laguna where Lauren would put on her very own fashion show. This is where LC's friendship with Heidi began to blossom, ultimately leading TMV to cast Heidi on The Hills.
Despite becoming the series villain alongside hubby, Spencer Pratt, both Heidi and Spencer have since expanded their family after welcoming baby boy Gunner back in 2017. In addition to parenthood, Heidi and Spencer have returned to their roots and are readying the filming of The Hills: New Beginnings Season 2.
2 Morgan Olsen
Morgan Olsen, now Morgan Smith, was quite the personality during her time on Laguna Beach. While she has since kept a low profile after the show's second season, Morgan kept busy by launching her own business, Minnow Swimwear, a bathing suit line that recently partnered with fashion retailer, J.Crew. In addition to her successful business, Morgan and her hubby, Joe Smith, are parents to not one, not two, but three kids, which definitely keeps them both very busy.
1 Jenn Bunney
Jenn Bunney became quite a big deal during the second season of The Hills when her friendship with Lauren Conrad imploded after she allegedly hooked up with Brody Jenner. While Bunney made a number of appearances on the show following her and LC's fallout, this wasn't the first time she's been on our screens.
Considering how close she, Heidi, and Lauren were during Laguna Beach season 2, it is no surprise that she's had enough of the cameras. The star has not returned to the show's reboot, however, she has gone on to earn herself a Ph.D. and now works in healthcare, a career path many fans did not see coming!
